I had the hormonal IUD inserted two weeks ago. Afterward, I had abdominal pain. I didn’t think anything of it at first, thinking it was normal. At first, they were normal cramps, then they got worse and worse, until they became so severe that I had to go to the emergency room at night. At the gynecologist’s, it turned out that the IUD was completely wrong, in the cervical canal. I’m really upset; I felt like I was in good hands, but I had terrible days afterward, and I could have just thrown the €230 away. Unfortunately, I definitely won’t recommend Profamilia Bremen in this case!

It’s not a pleasant atmosphere. Nurses and doctors were super nice, no question.
But I had an abortion the day after, and I had to have another operation because there were still pieces of tissue in there.

Unfortunately, our parental allowance consultation appointment, which we had scheduled for weeks, was canceled at very short notice. On Friday, they tried to call me exactly once using a withheld number. I missed this call and didn’t even know who was calling, which is obviously inconvenient when something is obviously urgent. On Monday, they called me again using a withheld number. This time I answered my cell phone in time. They told me that my appointment for 9:00 a.m. the next day unfortunately couldn’t go ahead and offered me a single alternative appointment one week later at 3:00 p.m. I couldn’t accept this appointment, however, as I didn’t have the time or organizational resources to make it. They said they would get back to me with alternatives. A few hours later, I received another call (also anonymous) saying they only had one appointment available, which I couldn’t make (along the lines of “Take this one or you’re out of luck”), and that there would be a general information session on parental allowance the next day, which, however, wasn’t counseling (the caller’s statement)—so it was all useless for me. There were no further appointments available for me, and so I ultimately didn’t receive any counseling from the Pro Familia Bremen “advice center,” and my appointment was canceled without replacement. We waited about three months for the consultation appointment for our upcoming parental leave and just left feeling completely disappointed. The woman who advised us was extremely unfriendly on the phone and equally rude in person. The consultation was highly incompetent and confusing; whenever I tried to ask questions, I was interrupted every time. It was almost as if she wanted to spoil the fun of the situation. The woman definitely chose the wrong career.
An absolute waste of time. I not only wouldn’t recommend the consultation, but I strongly advise against it.

They were so rude to me on the phone. I explained my situation, and then I was told I couldn’t find an apartment until after the birth, even though in my situation, that had to happen beforehand.
Then the woman on the phone pretended there was no reception to make me look stupid. You heard me perfectly. I called two different people after that, and the reception was great.
Super incompetent staff, or rather this woman. If you don’t want to give advice to pregnant women, you shouldn’t be in this profession. They also specifically asked me on the phone beforehand whether I wanted to press 1 to be connected to the medical center.
The same woman I spoke to thinks I want to terminate my pregnancy, even though I didn’t even press 1!
I’m more desperate than ever.

Unfortunately, telephone accessibility is virtually nonexistent. The statements made by the consultant, who introduced herself as a doctor, and the appointment with one of the doctors completely contradicted each other, and the explanation was abysmal. I also didn’t think it was right that interns were always present at the appointments and that no one else was allowed in the room, despite having a coronavirus test. Some appointments can be emotionally stressful. I also couldn’t understand the service charge. Be sure to bring some time for waiting.

I called there on Monday and had a consultation with two people on Tuesday, nobody knew anything about it, then I was given an appointment for tomorrow (Friday) at 9 a.m. for the procedure and nobody knew anything about it, then today I was told there were no appointments available and nobody knew anything about it, I think that’s a disgrace, you had everything planned and then this happens! I’ve been on the phone for five days straight.

Zero accommodating, I’m totally disappointed. I couldn’t even make an appointment because it was all done by phone. Absolutely unacceptable, and no solution suggested. Unbelievable. I won’t be using this place again, which also charges a fee. And I can’t recommend it either. I’d rather go to Caritas or something similar.

Phone access is very poor. Getting through to the receptionist is hit or miss. They give very contradictory information.
Waited over 1.5 hours for an appointment, and even for a follow-up appointment, I waited over an hour. In addition to the costs, there’s a 30-euro reimbursement, which I wonder what it’s for 😅
The doctor was stressed but still nice, hence the 2 stars.

Eight months ago, I first inquired about appointments. They keep putting me off from month to month due to staff shortages. When I asked directly whether it was even worth trying to make appointments, I received the answer, “Probably not.” They recommend looking elsewhere.

The organization and service for medical procedures are terrible. The €50 service fee is ridiculous. My gynecologist couldn’t answer any of my questions, or rather, no one could give me any substantiated answers. I wouldn’t recommend going here for abortions or IUD insertion.

Doctors are terrible, I didn’t feel cared for at all, it was like a mass processing… the most terrible experience of my life.. no aftercare, no compassion, no helpful information.. you are simply left alone and can see how you cope.. terrible, I wouldn’t even wish that on my worst enemy
